HARDWARE SECURITY ENGINEER / HERTFORDSHIRE / £NEG
* Design/development in a team of skilled engineers broadly working on security products such as Cryptographic Security Units for satellite systems
* ESSENTIAL: Strong understanding of electrical & electronic engineering fundamentals; Computer literate; Good communication/presentation skills; High motivation, aptitude for problem solving
* Knowledge/exp of digital circuit design incl. appreciation of security concepts & evaluation processes an advantage
* DESIRABLE: Exp designing cryptographic units for space applications
ROLE:
- Design/develop complex digital electronic systems for flight
- Design for manufacture/test
- Actively participate in project review meetings
- Security design/analysis for commercial or high-grade / military products e.g Security domain analysis, use of Security enforcing functions
- 3rd party security evaluation e.g. Common Criteria / ITSEC / UK COMSEC
- Detailed description of equipment Security Architecture (security analysis & trade-offs); Seek approval from National Evaluation Agency
- Define/plan various security evaluation activities (CC, COMSEC & TEMPEST) to be performed in conjunction with National Evaluation Agency/independent subcontractors
Skills sought:
* Knowledge/exp of digital circuit design; Combinational, sequential, algorithmic, synchronous & asynchronous circuits
* Design analysis e.g parts stress, worst case, reliability, FMECA
* Extensive exp/knowledge of a wide range of electronic design automation tools/processes; Schematic capture, verification & physical realisation of digital, analogue/mixed-signal circuits at various levels of packaging: ASIC, FPGA, PCB, MCM
* Knowledge/proven exp of FPGA VHDL design processes
* Aerospace background
* Product cost: sensitivity to overall non-recurring & recurring costs
* Project schedule: sensitivity to resource implications of design
* FPGA/VHDL design / Flight design / Analogue design exp
* Knowledge of software &/or embedded systems
